Rush Limbaugh‘s Death: The Reaction

With the recent passing of an icon, the vile hatred and anger from a certain political side has been extreme. Rush Limbaugh, a long-time conservative radio host and recent Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, died on Wednesday, February 17th, 2021. And the left celebrated.

When RBG died, America mourned. All races, all walks of life, all religions, and all values mourned for her death. Some may have felt distraught at the losing of one such extreme leftist judge, while others were saddened by the loss of a human being at all. The same can not be said for Limbaugh’s death.

Immediately upon the announcement, Twitter jumped into a party. Champagne and little finger desserts were immediately brought out as Twitter allowed raunchy, despicable hashtags trend. Some of these hashtags are so intense that we cannot share them here on Seriously Political. People were attacked for having anything nice to say about Rush. Any good word about the man was immediately covered by some of the worst hatred one can give. Many people, upon seeing Tweets that either memorialized Rush or, at the very least, said that they are saddened by a pillar of radio dying, were immediately attacked on the front of “Well, Rush was rude so we should be too!” I can definitely say that Rush Limbaugh made some major moral mistakes in his radio career. He had some skits that were and are tasteless. He said some things that he later apologized for. However, I cannot sit back and say “Oh, right. Rush said bad stuff so we should celebrate his death.” The reason that this stance is impossible for me to take, besides my belief expressing the importance of EVERY life, is because the left is extremely guilty of this very things. Deleted Tweets, phone calls, text messages, emails, etc, have all been incriminating evidence for those on the left. Illegal discussions, hate speech, and outright threats are covered up. The fact that we, meaning conservatives, are too sit back and let the left torture Rush for things he said many years ago just cannot, and will not, sit well with me when the left is guilty of things that topple the sayings of Rush.

Now, we get it. Rush was not always the most moral man. Rush also made plenty of people mad. The political stunt of him getting the Presidential Medal of Freedom was certainly done to spit in the face of those on the left, but the fact that many thousands of people are openly giddy about his death is appalling. No matter what you think of Limbaugh’s history, no matter what you think of his politics, it all comes down to one thing.

Rush was a human, and that means that his death means something.

Today is Election Day

Today is the day.

We will watch the nation fight between very different ideals. One side hates the foundation of America and wants to tear it down to set it up with a state similar to nazi-led Germany. The other side loves America and wants to stand firm on the ground that has already been laid. The battlegrounds are drawn, be ready for the fight to begin.

There is no such thing as a non-voter. I want to put that out there. If you do not vote, you are casting your vote for the candidate that you do not agree with. If you hate Biden, but do not go out and vote for Trump, then you are voting for Biden. The same goes if you hate Trump and do not go out and vote for Biden. There is no such thing as a non-voter.

“There is no such thing as a non-voter.”

Wake up, America. This is it. This is the day in which we have to stand up for our freedom.

Wake up, people of faith. This is it. This is the day in which we have to stand up for our rights to worship and the lives of unborn babies.

My plea, and the plea of Seriously Political, is that our listeners go out and utilize the rights that thousands of American soldiers have died for.

So, are you going to waste the freedom you have been gifted and sit back and watch a socialist and baby-murderer candidate, go ahead. However, if any aspect of America appeals to you and you love this country then you better get out and do your duty.

Gun Control and Freedom

The second amendment states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

This simple little sentence has caused a major uproar from the American citizens of today. The idea of citizens having the right to arms has, for some reason, become a hot button issue. Giving citizens the right to defend themselves is not okay in some circles and some say that it should be illegal. But why?

I have no idea.

But, before I get involved with my personal opinions, let’s focus on what the second amendment actually means.

A well regulated Militia is NECESSARY to the security of a free State. This is literally in the Constitution…and to top that, it is the second amendment listed which proves the significance is greater than some of the latter. The strong, well-regulated (which could also mean well-disciplined) army must exist in order to ensure a free country for the citizens. Period. There is nothing else to be said on this subject…it is literally written in black and white in what is considered the most important document in American history. That is all that needs to be said on this for now…let me know if you want me to support my beliefs on that subject.

Let us get into the heart of this matter. “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

“…it is literally written in black and white in what is considered the most important document in American history.”

That seems pretty black and white in itself.

There shall be NO infringement on the right of Americans to keep and bear arms. Frankly, this is so black and white that it shocks me that anyone thinks that we should totally ban guns. It disturbs and disgusts me that the Constitution is just being tossed to the side like it is a shopping list from last week…who cares what it says anymore. For now, let us just ignore those extremists who obviously do not care about American freedoms.

Let’s focus on those who want gun control.

Britannica says that “Gun control refers to any legal measure intended to prevent or restrict the possession or use of guns, particularly firearms.” I like what it says later on in this definition. It says “…it is a fraught political issue, pitting those who regard it as necessary for public safety against those who view it as a dangerous infringement of personal liberty.”

True words.

This battle of control puts people who value their personal liberties over their safety against those who battle their safety over their personal liberties. See the difference?

During this time (October 2020), we are very much in the middle of a “safety or liberty” argument. We understand the need for safety and the need for liberty as important rights Americans have…but there has been a huge misunderstanding in the public. I will get more into this “Safety and Liberty” subject in later blog posts but here is just a quick sample of my thoughts.

Americans are guaranteed rights, not safety.

So, applying that thought to guns, why are we even discussing the disarmament of American citizens? It seems very cut and dry what the Constitution says and it does not feel as if we should be debating those black and white words. We are specifically guaranteed the rights to bear arms and there are no limitations given.

Back to the Constitution. Let’s remember the importance of the phrase “no infringement shall be made…” An infringement, as according to our beloved Google, is “the action of limiting or undermining something.” This means that there should be NO act of limiting the American people’s right to bear arms. NO act. None, nada, zilch, zip.

Earlier I made the distinction between the extremists who hate America vs. those who just want gun control. Well, don’t you think that people who want to ignore the Constitution and walk all over it actually do not truly love America? Think about it.

More thoughts in the future.

Looking Forward to the 2020 Presidential Debates

Every four years, Americans are treated to the United States Presidential Debates. This is always an exciting time for me because I enjoy watching two people fight for their position using their brains and wits. Although debates may not be a totally fair exploration into the candidates, it is important that Americans see what their candidates’ views are and how fast they can think on their feet.

And then there is the 2020 presidential debate. This one will be good.

In the left corner of the boxing ring, we have Joe Biden! At six feet tall and one-hundred and fifty-eight pounds, Biden often forgets where his sentences are headed. He has many stutters, errors, gaffs, and inconsistencies. His math skills are rusty (but that is expected…he has not been to school for nearly 152 years) but his calm nature will persevere to beat his opponent.

In the right corner of this ring, we have Donald J. Trump!
At six-foot-three, two-hundred and forty-three pounds, he outweighs and towers over his opponent. Trump often discusses how amazing of a person he is but seems to forget that he has a staff that helped push him to the top. He says he cares for the little guy and he tries to identify with the poor while he sits in his solid diamond penthouse.

These two dinosaurs will be facing off in multiple debates this year as a free comedy show for those on the right, and a show full of complaints and excuses for those on the left.

On the right, Donald Trump is going to talk circles, squares, and rectangles around Joe Biden. Trump will also have a very long conversation with himself about how amazing he is and how great of a president he is. He is even better than that Washington guy, apparently. Trump will get Biden so confused that he will not even be able to find his basement again. He will get so dizzy and lost that not even the coronavirus can find him.

On the left, confused Biden is going to be talking about how his pet ant in the 1770’s fought for America’s freedom by stopping 9/11. His wonderful math skills will be put on display when he will say that cops have killed 170% of America’s black population and how the coronavirus has killed 12.7 BILLION people. It will be hard to understand him behind his hazmat suit, his mask, and his oxygen tank which he says is ‘necessary’ to defeat COVID.

Okay, I’ll cut the comedy now. There is no doubt that we will have our fair share of gaffs and incorrect numbers from Biden while also having lots of gloating and odd phrasing from Trump, but we must not lost sight of this debate. This is important. We cannot allow the comedy we will no doubt see block our vision from what is happening. One of these two men will be the leader of our country, the greatest nation on earth besides Israel. The elected official will affect your money, your job, your beliefs, and your freedom. Seriously Political is NOT going to tell you how to vote, although we do not hide our thoughts. Do your research and find the best candidate that agrees with your beliefs.

There will be a blog article released about Christians and voting later, but just understand this:

If you love something about America, you must vote.

Loss of Patriotism between 9/11 and Covid

Today is a dark day in the history of the United States. 9/11/2020 marks the nineteenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. Nineteen years ago, nearly four thousand people would unexpectedly be saying goodbye to their loved ones. Grabbing their last coffee from Starbucks. Listening to their last song on the radio. Tying their last tie, slipping on their last shirt, and putting on their last pair of socks.

9/11 is a depressing day, and we have not forgotten it. There will be hundreds, if not thousands, of news articles, videos, stories, an pictures that you will see today. I want to provide a different take on this whole situation.

Americans 20 years ago were entirely more patriotic than they are currently. Why?

Look around.

Millionaire athletes complain that they are being oppressed against. Government officials defend the destruction of private property and complain when people use their Constitutional rights to protect themselves. Tech giants censor information that they do not agree with. An entire race of people are being blamed for injustices that occurred over one hundred and fifty years ago. Free speech has been limited to speech that agrees with the mob. People can make time to go to their country club or to Walmart but cannot make time to vote in person.

Perhaps most importantly, Americans have turned over their Constitutional rights in exchange for the CHANCE of a ‘safe’ life. The GUARANTEED rights that we, as Americans, have are going through a metamorphosis into privileges.

Americans, after the horrific attacks on 9/11, went out and bought as many flags as they could. They met in large prayer groups. Churches overfilled as people realized how important it is to get their lives secured in Christ. Patriotism was on an all-time high with the exception of the Revolutionary War Patriots.

Yes, we did lose many, many rights during this attack. And those rights SHOULD still belong to Americans. But I want to focus on the reaction and the outcry. American forces fought hard to eventually bring justice to the architect of this attack. American flags, with their fifty stars and three colors, waved proudly from most houses and businesses. Police and firefighters were regarded as heroes. The Red Cross provided for the people without trying to send a message. The sport players had a moment of silence for lives lost rather than sitting out games in support of criminals.

America was different then. Let’s bring that America back.
